Introduction

Dubai is a city and emirate in the United Arab Emirates known for luxury shopping, ultramodern architecture and a lively nightlife scene. Burj Khalifa, an 830m-tower, dominates the skyscraper-filled skyline. At its fool lies Dubai Fountain, with jets and lights choreographed to music. On artificial islands just offshore is Atlantis, The Palm, a resort with water and marine-animal parks.


The Burj Khalifa

The Burj Khalifa is a skyscrapper in Dubai, UAE. With a total height of 829.8m (2,772 ft), spread out over 154 floors, the burj khalifa has been tallest structure in the world since its topping out in late 2008. Construction of the Burj Khalifa began in 2004. with the exterior completed five years later in 2009. Burj Khalifa was designed by Adrian Smith, of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, whose firm designed the Willis Tower and One World Trade Center. Hyder Consulting was chosen to be the supervising engineer with NORR Group Consultants International Limited chosen to supervise the architecture of the project. The design is derived from the Islamic architecture of the region, such as in the Great Mosque of Samarra. The Y-shaped tripartite floor geometry is designed to optimize residential and hotel space. A buttressed central core and wings are used to support the height of the building.

Burj Al Arab

The world's most luxurious hotel cost $1 billion to build and probably won't be in your price range (the Royal Suite for $24000 a night) but just a walk through will be enough to inspaire you to be better! Or give up entirely. Burj Al Arab, a sail-shaped hotel, is near the public Jumeirah Beach, a popular stretch of sand. Of the many enormous shopping centres, Dubai Mall has an Olympic-size ice-skating rink, while Mall of the Emirates features the indoor slopes of Ski Dubai. Prestigious international restaurants, and outdoor and building-top nightclubs abound. Traditional gold, spice and textile souks are located around Dubai Creek, where Dubai’s past as a sleepy fishing village is on view in Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, a restored quarter of late-1800s houses with wind towers, and at Dubai Museum, housed in the 18th-century Al Fahidi Fort.


Atlantic - The Palm Island

Palm Island, the world's biggest man-made island houses over 500 residential units and a ton of top class hotels and resorts all the connected by the Middle East's first monorail. is a luxury hotel resort located at the apex of the Palm Jumeirah in the United Arab Emirates. It was the first resort to be built on the island and is themed on the myth of Atlantis but includes distinct Arabian elements. The 1,548 room nautically themed resort has two accommodation wings, consisting of the East and the West Tower, linked together by the Royal Bridge Suite. It is complemented by the Aquaventure water park and the Lost Chambers Aquarium, home to over 65,000 marine animals.


The Shopping

The city of Dubai is synonymous with spending. Whether you're looking for gold and handicrafts at tradition should or more upscale global shopping destinations.
